1I'm there at least once a month in 2003 and can
even make a special trip (Amtrak is great). Copious details are here.
2Here are the text and photographs from Elsa's Housebook: A Woman's
Photojournal, which I wrote in 1974, now out
of print.
3Long before video, 1973, my friend Ilene Lang
made a movie about me while she was a
student at Harvard Business School and was taking an elective at
MIT with Richard Leacock. Miraculously, we converted her film stock
to video and then mysteriously, converted it for the Web! It's a
little bleached-out but you see what I looked like when I was
thirty-seven, and more important, you see and hear Allen Ginsberg
and Peter Orlovsky singing.
4My husband, Harvey Silverglate, is a criminal
and civil liberties lawyer and a writer on legal subjects. Here is
the wedding ceremony of friends Wendy
Kaminer and Woody Kaplan as written, recited and amended by
Harvey on November 17, 2001.
5The two mystery
questions have been answered! And they have the same
answer....RICHARD AVEDON.
