Aug 15, 2005 12:19 pm US/Eastern BOSTON (AP) -- The M-B-T-A is updating its maps.
The T- is planning to replace the 600 maps that show the subway lines. The maps, which cost 40 dollars each, are posted at stations in Boston and surrounding suburbs.
The maps that are in stations right now don't show the new Silver Line. But they do have four stops on the Green Line's B- branch that were recently eliminated.
T- officials told The Boston Herald that some maps even show stops on the Green Line that were taken out of service in the 1980s.
T- General Manager Daniel Grabauskas told The Herald that the new maps should make it easier for riders to find their way around.
Officials said they're also considering posting new signs outside stations telling disabled riders which escalators and elevators aren't working.
