Seymour Simckes is a novelist and playwright; Anya an actress, a Canadian born in China. They are both very gentle people and I always love to see them. Seymour's father was a rabbi and it was he who arranged for me to take photographs in holy but deserted Blue Hill Avenue Orthodox synagogues. Since I'd grown up on Blue Hill Avenue, that meant a great deal to me.
